 EARNEST 2012 TSC Meetings   The EARNEST Trial Steering Committee (TSC) met three times in 2012. The first meeting was a face-to-face meeting held in Kampala, Uganda on 15th February 2012. This meeting was followed by meetings via telephone conference on 04th September and 4th December 2012. We would like to thank members of the EARNEST TSC for their indispensible input. Five EARNEST abstracts were presented at CROI 2015

The last EARNEST participants exited the trial 12 months ago and numerous analyses have been ongoing since then. Five of these analyses abstracts were submitted to and accepted for CROI 2015 which took place in Seattle, USA from 23rd to 26th February, 2015.

Dr Andrew Kambugu and Prof Nick Paton gave oral presentations on Neurocognitive function in Africans failing first-Line ART and responses to second-line and on Impact of NRTI cross-resistance on second-line PI + NRTI therapy outcomes in Africa respectively. Poster presentations were provided by Dr Cissy Kityo on Differences in Resistance Mutations in Non-B Subtypes at First-line Failure in Africa, Dr Alejandro Arenas-Pinto on Peripheral neuropathy at first-line failure and on second-line in Sub-Saharan Africa and Prof James Hakim on Second-line treatment in Sub-Saharan Africa: 144 Follow-up of the EARNEST Trial.

The EARNEST Bone Mineral Baseline Data will be presented at CROI 2014

The EARNEST Bone Mineral Density substudy team will be presenting their baseline data at CROI 2014. Congratulations to the team for getting their abstract accepted.

 

Follow-up in EARNEST is complete 

The last EARNEST participants have exited the trial on 31st January 2014. We would like to thank all EARNEST participants for their dedication to the study and for making EARNEST a success!

The data collected in EARNEST is currently being cleaned for the final analysis.

 

The EARNESTx Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDMC) will meet via telephone conference on 15thApril 2013. This meeting will be followed by two face-to face meeting taking place in Kampala, Uganda, namely an EARNEST Investigators’ Meeting (1stto 2ndMay 2013) and an EARNEST Trial Steering Committee (TSC) Meeting (3r

The EARNEST week 96 data was presented at IAS 2013

The EARNEST week 96 outcome data was presented at the IAS conference in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, 3rd July 2013. The last Face-to-Face EARNEST Meetings

An EARNEST Investigators' meeting and TSC meeting have taken place in Kampala, Uganda, from 1st to 3rd May 2013. These meetings are likley to be the last face-to-face EARNEST meetings and were very exciting as the week 96 outcome data was first released to the EARNEST investigators. We are looking forward to sharing the data with the wider community in the near future.
